After taking my mum on her first ever coach holiday, we returned from Bognor Regis on Friday Night and I hadnt got a match earmarked to go to. This morning I looked at Beeston AFC v Nottinghamshire FC but the venue was altered, so I saw Boots v Netherfield, this match saw 3rd v 1st take each other on with the hosts nine points behind with three games in hand, so a must win game for both sides. Since I'd seen Boots lose away at Underwood Villa last month, they had picked up seven points in the past three matches, whilst top of the table Netherfield has lost their last two matches.
The opening twenty minutes was played at a frantic pace with very few chances being created as both sides cancelled each other out in midfield, then the visitors began to break through the Boots defence but woeful finishing kept the score at 0-0 when it could easily been 0-3. It was during this time that Boots got the lucky break they needed when a ball was played in to the visitors box and the Albion defender volleyed the ball past the lapless keeper to give the Chemists the lead.
Boots came out brighter in the Second Half and looked more likely to add to their total and did so on 57 minutes when the ball was headed home. Boots looked in control in a two goal lead but on the hour mark, the visitors were back in the game when from a corner on the left side was volleyed home from the far post.
On 77 minutes, the Boots number 10 scored the first of his 13 minute hat-trick with a shot from 20 yards out to make it 3-1. Albion decided to go three at the back and got just rewards when they scrambled in a goal on 84 minutes to reduce the arrears to 3-2. Boots then began to exploit the gaps at the back of the Albion defence and after 87 minutes Boots number ten made it 4-2. Netherfield pressed forward but didnt really created another chance before in injury time the Boots number 10 wrapped up his hat trick.
