LINBY GO NAP HAND IN CMFL DEBUT

CMFL SOUTH DIVISION

LINBY CW 5 BLIDWORTH WELFARE 2

admission £3(includes Programme & Raffle)
Att: 80

A lovely day marked with the meeting of old friend Adi Ward of Linby CWFC who I havent seen for years, as we chattered and had a cuppa made by his lovely wife Sue, in arrived a couple of hoppers from the York area followed by a chap from down Surrey way.

Before the match, I got chatting to a few familar faces, the ref Tom Knight who was excellent as always today and Assessor Nigel Prost, then came in the guys who encouraged me to do this blog some 3 years ago now, Malc Storer who writes the superb "On the Road" blog and his side kick Kev Goodman. If you havent seen On the Road, then have a look, it is superb. http://ontheroad2012-2013.blogspot.co.uk/

I also had a natter with the Blidworth lads who gave me some breaking news which can be revealed at the end of this report, so please read through!

On to the match and Linby CW crowned their CMFL debut with a 5-2 victory, things couldnt have gone any better, when after only 28 seconds Matt Murphy placed the ball home. Blidworth upped their game but didnt really threaten infact it was the homesters that lookedmore like adding to their tally and on 39 minutes, they did just that through that man again Matt Murphy.

In the Second Half, Blidworth came out with a more positive attitude and pulled a goal back through Carl Gould on 67 minutes, with the clock running down Blidworth pushed forward looking for a equaliser, but were caught napping when Ash Winfield headed home to make it 3-1, but sadly for the Blidworth keeper he collided with the post and his own defender and dis-located his elbow and had to be subbed.

This seemed to spur Blidworth forward and on 88 minutes, Josh Brentnall reduced the arrears again, but as soon as he had scored Linby pushed forward and found gaps and they soon got back their 2 goal advantage through Chaz Niblett.

In to injury time and Linby capped off a impressive debut to the CMFL when Kyle McDermott rolled the ball in to a empty net.

If you have never been to Linby's ground on Church Lane, it is a picturesque ground and the locals are very friendly.
